Joe Maverick

The protagonist of the game, Joe is a chain smoking, old-fashioned, hardboiled detective from the Jersey area. His weapon of choice is a .45 caliber pistol.

Before he was a detective, Joe wanted to be a photographer, even pursuing a degree in the field while he was in college. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the company he was going to work for folded. Left with the risk of being unemployed, Joe decided to start up a detective agency instead at the suggestion of his pal Dan after he helped him solve a crime case.

Dan Hawke

The deuteragonist of the game, Dan is Joe’s partner and childhood friend. His weapons of choice are .09 mm revolvers.

Dan was originally part of his town's local police force, but eventually came to work with Joe instead to help him start his agency. He is mostly known for his dual revolvers and fake southern accent, which came from his love of western movies. While he may not be as clever as Joe, he makes up for it with his smooth talk and charisma. He takes pride in being the good cop to Joe's bad cop persona.

Erika Waltham

Erika is an amateur sorcerer that works for the queen of the Westwood Kingdom. When an ancient artifact is brought back to life, the queen tasked her with finding the two prophesized heroes that would be able to utilize its power. This brought her to modern times, where she met Joe and Dan, and hired them for the queen's quest.

Erika keeps in touch with Joe and Dan over the course of their adventure, giving them advice along the way.

Queen Isabelle

Queen Isabelle is the current ruler of the Westwood Kingdom alongside her husband, King Winston.

One day, the king disappeared on a yearly diplomatic expedition to a nearby kingdom. At the same time, an ancient artifact was revived, signaling the start of an ancient prophecy that had been passed down for generations. With both of these objectives in mind, the queen sent Erika to find the heroes described in the prophecy, along with someone who could discover the king's whereabouts.
