Finally in Hot Springs!

Hey all! HaxDev here.

As you may have remembered from last time, I was in the process of relocating from NJ to Arkansas. Well, I just arrived here yesterday! I drove down in a 12ft Penske Truck with my sister, who drove my car. It was a little intimidating driving the truck at first because it was much larger than my car, but after a while I really got used to it. It was a sweet ride! Plus, it only had 7k miles on it, which is pretty amazing. I can 100% recommend Penske if you want to rent a truck for long distance moving!

Loading the truck was easy. If you don't know, I work for FedEx as a package handler. Basically, my job is to load packages into a large truck. I'm not sure how large exactly, but you know the long trucks you see on the highway? Most of them are that size. Occasionally we'll get a half-sized truck (about 16ft). Because of my experience with that, I knew that I didn't need a large truck to store a lot of things (I chose the smallest size) and I was able to pack everything tightly. Everything survived the trip down, including a glass mirror and large glass display case. Pretty impressive! My pet tarantula also made it down safely (I had him in the front seat with some pillows as support.) His burrow that he dug out collapsed though, which I don't think he's too happy about. I added some more dirt as a consolation when we got here.

So you may be wondering, what's next? Well, the next thing I have to do is get a full time job. My job with FedEx transferred over, but it's only part time. To qualify for my mortgage, I need a full time position. I have about six interviews lined up, so I think I'll be able to get one fairly soon. Good news though, I was finally able to see the house I want to buy in person for the first time, and WOW! It's just what I was looking for. Compact on the outside, roomy on the inside. I think that policy is the best for things in general. My car is also similar, it's small but you can fit a lot inside. People tend to scoff at my car, but I get the last laugh when I can park it virtually anywhere in existence. Small cars are the best cars.

Anyway, I'll be staying in an AirBNB until my mortgage goes through. I'm not sure how long that'll be, but my closing date's the 26th, so hopefully around then. I'll be sure to post again when I get the keys! And if anything else of note happens, I'll be sure to let you know as well.
