Game Journal #120 - New Move Animation

Hey all! Welcome back to my game journal series. This time, I completed Joe and Dan's Buddy overdrive move, Two to the Chest/One to the Head. I feel pretty accomplished! Now all that's left is Dan's Overdrive move, and the demo will be much better. Of course, the next thing is to add the next party member's overdrive as well... but we'll get to that when he joins!

First of all, life update. Life is AWESOME right now! Remember how I said I'd be working longer at work? Well, I also got an extra day to work a week now! So I'm pretty much making what I did back in NJ each week. I'm really happy because now I can build my savings back up. I always try to have at least 1k saved in case of an emergency, so yeah. Financially, I'm pretty secure!

Secondly, I've been getting feedback on this game! Yes, really! It makes me so excited whenever someone plays it. Because of that, I'm really (and I mean really) seriously going to get back into more 3D next time. Probably environmental stuff because that's easier, but yeah. The time has finally come to make the first level actually look like it should. I've had it drawn on paper for ages, all I have to do is model it.

I think it turned out pretty good! I hope you think it looks cool, too.

Here's a fun fact about buddy overdrive moves as well: the movie will change slightly depending on who uses it. So for example, on Two to the Chest Dan is in front at the beginning, but for One to the Head Joe is in the front. I just thought it'd be a neat little feature!

Okay, that was all I did since the last journal. Next time I should have some 3D, and I'm going to work on coloring more of the story images as well. I think I just might be able to get the rest of the demo done this month! We'll see.

Oh yeah, remember my Metaphor Re:Fantazio review? An official popularity poll came out recently and the order was exactly how I felt about the characters. I was surprised to see that everyone else thought Strohl was the best, too!
