Hey all! Got a new game update journal here. So let's get right into it!
Firstly, life update. I saw the Mario movie a few days ago, and I liked it! Animation was great, music was remixed from the game themes. Have you seen it yet? If so, what do you think?
Second, game update! If you remember, I've been tinkering around with Blender to try and get a style that I want for my game's 3D models. I was getting rather frustrated because all my attempts were failures, and I had to keep starting over. But yesterday, I stumbled upon a new 3D program called Blockbench that is specifically designed to make low poly 3D models. From what I can see, it's exactly what I'm looking for in a 3D program!

The UI is much more simple than Blender's.
"Wait a minute, that looks familiar!" you might be thinking. And yeah, if you're thinking of Minecraft, you're right. Blockbench started off as a Minecraft mod program. But really, it's a low poly modelling program that can be used for any game! Just look at these models that were made with it.

Aren't they just super cool?! Sure, they still look blocky, but they also look unique at the same time. What I really love the most is the blending of pixel art with 3D. I like doing pixel stuff, so for me, this feels like the best way to approach my character models. So yeah! I'm going to give modelling in Blockbench a try and see what I get. I'll probably still use Blender for some things, but for super low poly stuff Blockbench will likely be my go-to.
With that out of the way, here's the changelog.

Dialogue special text can print like normal text

Added version to main menu
Updated map to reflect current location

Added minimap functionality
I know, it's a little small this week. But that's because I wanted to make sure that I didn't forget anything for the next journal. What I added (minimap, dialogue update) are pretty major, so if I kept adding the video would be really long. Lol. So I decided to cut it off there.
Anyway, here's the log video! Give it a watch to see the new and improved (for the 5000th time) dialogue widget.
