Hello all! Happy Thanksgiving. Welcome back to my game journal series. This time, it's more of a life update than anything, though I've gotten some more paintings done. But yeah, let me get right into it.

So first of all, that house I was going to buy before? Yeah, the inspection on it was the worst I've gotten so far. Like, dude... how can people sell their house with so many cut corners? So that fell through. I then found another house that had its price cut into my range, and it was also on almost an acre of land. Well, I asked my real estate agent to put an offer on it, and he then proceeded to wait two days before submitting it. I was absolutely livid, because I KNEW that house wouldn't last long at that price, and I was right. By the time my offer got in there was already another one, and I lost out on it. It was one of the most frustrating moments of my life. So then I just doomscrolled on Zillow every waking moment of my time for about two weeks. I think it paid off though, because I've found another home that I like at a lower price. Fingers crossed that it works out this time.

I also moved out from the place I was staying at before into a motel. Why? Well, it's easier to extend a stay in a motel, plus I always had to worry about the landlord lining up some other person to stay where I was in the future. So when my stay ended I left. I actually like the motel a lot better, even though it's smaller. First of all, there's a huge desk in my room, plus a balcony where my cats can go outside. The internet is also pretty decent. Not much more I ask for in a place to stay, really.

Lastly on life things, my work/life balance has gotten a lot worse. I've been getting a ton of hours at Cracker Barrel, which I like because it looks good on my mortgage application, but at the same time I've also been getting more hours at FedEx. So now, every night I have to make a choice between getting a good amount of sleep or working on my game. I've pretty much chosen sleep every time, because that's probably the smart thing to do, but at the same time the year's almost over and I need to release the demo. So yeah.

My attitude when I started working at Cracker Barrel vs Now

Did I mention that life at Cracker Barrel is increasingly more stressful? Dude, they cut corners in all the wrong spots when it comes to staffing. I was by myself in the kitchen a few days ago and I kept getting these huge orders. Like, dude. I had two other people with me but because they were slated to leave earlier than I was, they were more focused on cleaning than getting food out. I was beyond pissed, let me tell you. And heaven forbid you forget an item when the ticket has 6 peoples' orders on it. The servers will jump down your neck about it, and you just have to take it. Not fun.

Anyway, life update over. Here's the game video. I did some more paintings, and some animation as well.
