Hey all! Welcome back to my game journal series. Got a bit done this week, so let's get into it!

First, house update. I was under contract with the final house I was going to buy, but out of nowhere, my bank told me that the debt-to-income ratio for the mortgage would be too high to proceed. Yeah, they preapproved me for a higher amount than what the home cost, why do you ask?

Me: *trying to buy home*

My bank:

I'm a little saddened by it because I did like the home I was going to buy. But at the same time, there were a lot of things about the home that might've needed to be replaced (like the roof, plumbing, hvac, etc.) Not only that, but the interest rates for homes keeps going down. My first home I tried to buy was at 8.5% interest, now the one I'm trying to buy is at 6.25%. Pretty big difference when it comes down to it. So yeah, I'm trying to see the positive. I'm now under contract for a different home (I saw it earlier, but passed on it.) Fun fact about it: a sex offender tried to buy it when it went on the market, but was turned down. Yeah... maybe that's why it was still there. Lol.

On the other hand, I got a different realtor. If you remember, my previous one took forever to do anything (and I lost out on a home because of it.) So for the latest home, I just called up the seller's agent and asked him to put in an offer for me. He's much better when it comes to speed, which I appreciate. Hopefully this is the last offer I have to put in. It'd be pretty cool to get a home for Christmas.

Game-wise, I did quite a bit of work on the battle system. Yep, all I had to do was make it 2D for me to want to work on it again. Now you can use Overdrive, Co-Op overdrive, and Buddy moves. What are those? I'll explain in the video. But yep, you can pretty much do everything in battle besides do damage or status effects (it still has the old 3D code there.) I said it before, but I love how much simpler my code is without all the 3D crap in it. 3D is such a hassle, and anyone who says otherwise probably doesn't code and/or sculpts using a quintillion polygons to make their model "HiGh ReSoLuTiOn." Vomit-inducing, both of them. Bah!

That all being said, with the rate I'm progressing now I may have a decent demo by the end of the year. It won't be on Steam (because it takes 30 days to be approved) but you'll be able to download it here. You may be able to wishlist it on Steam, though. I'm percolating my pecans about it.

Ok, here's the video. I'm thinking about bringing back the changelogs I used to write because I'm doing more coding now. What do you think? Leave a comment down below if you'd like.
