Hey all! Merry Christmas Eve (and Day, and New Year.) I've gotten a lot done in terms of the battle system this week! Not too much left in terms of coding, which is great. Tons of art though! Well, I like to draw, so I don't mind too much. Coolio!

Life update as usual. The house I'm buying passed inspection and appraisal. The only thing it needs is a new roof, which the seller's insurance will pay for. So yeah, I'm pretty happy about it! In fact, the appraisal value was higher than the price of the home, which is a first for me. So cool! I'm really excited to move in and start personalizing. I'm going to make the in-house shed an arcade/gym/storage area. It's going to be really baller and cool, and I'll take photos when it's done and post.

Second thing is, cats are kinda awesome. I'm much more of a dog person, but at the moment with my work schedule I can only have cats. So I've had them for a few months. Lately they've been driving me up the wall sorta, and I was kinda regretting getting them. But a few days ago, one of my cats caught this HUGE roach that walked in from outside, and tortured it for like 10 minutes. I say "tortured" because that thing wouldn't die no matter how many times he bit or swatted at it. I eventually put it in a cup and transferred it outside, but I was really impressed with my cat. Free pest control, don't mind if I do! That's the one advantage cats have over dogs, I suppose. But I'm much more thankful for my cats now after that happened. Still not happy when they decide to pee where they're not supposed to, but I'm definitely keeping them.

Now for game stuff. I lost my tablet pen this week, so I couldn't really do anything other than code. Because of that, I made a lot of progress with the battle system! You'll see in the video below. I think the game feels really fun to play now, so I'll release the beta demo after I finish writing this post. And it'll only get more polished from here!

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas. And don't forget, it's hot tub time!
