Hey all! Welcome back to my game journal series. I did quite a bit this week, so let's get into it!
Life update first; I got a new job this week. It's at Rocky's Corner, which is a pizza place. Amazingly, it's not the first pizza place that I was talking about before. That place said they'd call me, but a month went by and nothing. I wasn't happy, so I applied elsewhere. Let me tell you, Rocky's hired me literally the day that I had my interview. So, you know, I really appreciated that! I don't know WHY people think it's okay to let weeks and months go by before contacting an applicant again for a job. It's absolutely ridiculous. Anyway, I also 100% recommend their pizza. I haven't tasted it yet, but BRO. All the ingredients are made from scratch. The dough, the sauce, pretty much anything that goes in it. And the pricing is pretty good, too. I like it a lot more than Cracker Barrel. There, speed was prioritized over everything and I always felt rushed. At Rocky's, it's much more relaxed. It helps that pizza takes a bit to cook, so the customer isn't unhappy with a 20 minute ticket (whereas at Cracker Barrel, that would get your head bitten off.) So yeah.
Game-wise, I applied to put my game on Steam! I'm still waiting to be approved, but the application is in. Yeah... that's 100$ straight to Valve. But it's really not so bad. If I sell just 20 copies of my early-access version of the game, I make it back! Yay... I've never been good at marketing, though. Anyway, as soon as it's available I'll put a link on the front page so you can see it. Even if you don't buy it, wishlisting it will help out a ton. If you didn't know, the more wishlists a game has on Steam, the higher chance that it'll been shown to other people. It's free, and it helps me out!
Here's the changelog from this week.
Made two new songs, a game over theme and an Alchemist theme.
Added sounds for Joe and Dan's weapons in a dungeon.
Added sounds for when a monster attacks, gets hit, dies, and is alerted.
When a monster sees you, he'll stop first and then chase.
Attacking a monster in the overworld decreases their health.
You can make a monster dizzy (will be confused their first turn.)
First strike and ambushes affect battle.
Improved the game over screen.
Yeah, your eyes aren't deceiving you. I actually made music for the first time in about a quintillion years. What can I say? I needed it, so I made it. Nothing more than that.
Here's the game video:

And here are the videos for the two songs that I made.
