Hey all! HaxDev here. Just writing this to say that version 0.8b of the game is out now. Just go to Steam and update the game, and you should have it. Here are the major changes:

-Erika's model has been added
-All of the Detective Office's models have been added.
-You now get a popup when going through a door.
-The tutorials no longer have placeholder images.

It took me a while for sure, but the first level of the game is finally complete. I feel pretty accomplished having done it all by myself. Sometimes my game feels like a pipe dream that I'll never get finished... but the completion of this is really inspiring me to work more. Of course, as a reminder, I already have all the game's story completed. So I know exactly what is going to be implemented next! The next section is small, but it will end the game's Introduction chapter and put you in medieval times. Chapter One is where you first get into the real JRPG mechanics; the blacksmith, tailor, and so on. You'll also have your first boss battle there pretty early in... hmm, I wonder who it could be?

While writing this I realized that the actual battle part doesn't start until Chapter One. So the demo will actually allow you to experience just the very VERY beginnings of that; nothing more, and no boss battle. After all, the battle system of a jrpg is very important, and if you don't like it, you won't have fun in the rest of the game. So the demo's flagline will now be: "Play up to the beginnings of Chapter one for free!" instead of "Play the game's Prologue and Introduction for free." The game's Sandbox mode will also be removed at that time. Really, that mode was meant to be more of a "proof of concept" than anything, a little area where I can test all my code to see if it's working properly. There are bugs there because it's not meant for player use, but for dev use. So yeah... don't worry, the full game will only be $4.99 until all six chapters are done. A bag of Funyuns costs more! (WHICH IT SHOULDN'T BTW.)

That being said, I will also be adding a Mac version of the game this year. I need to purchase a Mac to render a build for it, so I'll do that once all my bills are sorted out. I would've bought it sooner, but... there was this limited edition Sol Badguy figurine that came out, and he looked very handsome, and it cost the same as the Mac I want to buy, so... yeah, I have a figurine collection, sorry. If it weren't limited edition I would've bought the Mac, but it was so here we are. Sigh.

All right, well. I already know how I'm going to start the next portion of the game, so it shouldn't be too long before it's done. Definitely before Thanksgiving at the latest. There's a bit of 3D that I have to do, but now that I have both a base male and base female model it won't be very hard. I'm pretty excited to show you all what my ideas are, and I hope you'll enjoy them too.
